Now that we officially have a leaving date for Prague (excuse me while I go cry for a minute in the corner…) I have a list, of course, of everything I want to try to do before we leave! Since I only have a few weeks left of school, and with a bunch of visitors wanting to be entertained, I think I have a good shot to finish everything before August.
side note: after finishing this I never want to leave Prague! and I better get moving on finishing this list!
- Find the best trdelník in the city. (A big one but I think I am up for the task!)
- Go paddle boating on the Vltava River.
- Visit Letna Beer Garden.
- Have a drink on the Hotel Du Prince terrace, supposedly one of the best views in Prague.
- Walk to Prague Castle from Petřin Hill.
- Go orbing on the river.
- Find the restaurant down the skinniest alley.
- Take a boat to the Prague Zoo.
- Have a beer in the Brevnov Monastery.
- Visit the library at the Stranov Monastery.
- Buy one small piece of Bohemia crystal.
- Complete my Czech Republic Bucket List.
- Take my parents to Café Savoy.
- Walk the Stag Moat in the summer.
- Visit the Jewish Quarter.
- See the Wallenstein Palace Garden.
- Stop being cheap so I can see the full interior of Prague Castle and its grounds.
- Take E’s family to Vyšehrad.
- Climb up Baba Hill (recommended by a few students of mine).
- Go back to the Prague Beer Museum and visit Pivovarksy Dum.
- Re-visit all of my favorite spots, like the Choco Café and Café Lounge.
- Explore as many alleyways as possible.
- Hang out at many of the pop-up riverside bar and grills.
- Have some wine at St. Wenceslas Vineyard.
Do you have a bucket list for your city?

We’re going to Prague this weekend and I found out about Mind Maze @ mindmaze.cz today. We’d love to do the challenge if it weren’t so expensive.
AmyMacWorld says
Oh yeah I’ve heard of that! It looks so, so cool. It’s not TOO expensive if you get a bigger group 🙂 but still pricey for Prague!
AmyMacWorld says
p.s. I hope you enjoyed Prague! We had amazing weather this weekend!

Writing these bucket lists always get me inspired to actually do them! Can’t wait to follow along while you cross these off!
AmyMacWorld says
I love that when I make these I find so many more things to add to the list 🙂 I see you’ve been making a lot of progress on your Icelandic bucket list–so fun to follow along! 🙂
Rachael says
Wow what a bucket list – seems like you’re going to be super busy ticking them all off!
AmyMacWorld says
Haha yes I may be a TINY bit ambitious ;). But luckily we have a lot of visitors to entertain so that will help!!
Jessi @2feet1world says
Oooh busy indeed! I haven’t updated my London to-do list recently… I should definitely have a look at some activities for the summer!
AmyMacWorld says
It’s always great to update the to-do lists for the season 🙂

Great list!! This reminds me, I’m leaving London very soon and that’s the perfect excuse to do lots of great things in the city before then 🙂
AmyMacWorld says
yes–that’s the PERFECT excuse! Us leaving also gives me the best excuse to eat out more for one last time haha 🙂

Definitely don’t miss the castle area (along with the Golden Lane). And I would add these to your list:
1. Kulatak farmers market in Prague 6 – lots of food vendors there. – http://www.prague.eu/en/object/places/1425/farmers-market-at-kulatak
2. Wine tasting at Cellarius – I went there to taste the “new wine” last Fall. 5 glasses for 100 Kc, and you can sip your wine while admiring the crazy dead horse sculpture by David Cerny. https://www.facebook.com/vinotekycellarius
3. Eat at Estrella – It’s a vegetarian restaurant, but was seriously one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It’s super affordable at lunch during the week, and is just all around lovely. https://www.facebook.com/estrella.rest/timeline
P.S. – Drink a cinnamon coffee for me at Cafe Savoy 😉
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks so much for the tips! I think we are definitely going to Estrella soon, especially as my cousin’s here and she’s a vegetarian :). I’ve been to that farmer’s market in Prague 6, I work there and we went on a field trip haha! But it might be fun to take my parents there, thanks for the reminder 🙂 hope all is well and it will NOT be hardship to get a cinnamon coffee in your honor!

Great list! My husband and I want to visit Prague, hopefully this summer. This gave me some cool ideas. That river orbing looks sweet!

It looks so fun! Perfect summer activity. I hope you guys get to make it here–Prague is just the best! Let me know if you make it and need more tips, and some friends to meet up with 🙂

Awe love that you have a bucket list before you head back to the States. I feel like sometimes (most times) people don’t get the most out of their own city… the “I can visit that whenever, I live here” mentality. Can’t wait to live vicariously through you 🙂
AmyMacWorld says
Yes I’ve had that problem in Prague already–but having a leaving date really gave me the wake up call I needed to realize I don’t have endless time to see all that I want to see! I suppose we NEVER do, though, but a bucket list helps me make priorities 🙂
Jamie | Gunters Abroad | Fit F says
So sad you have to leave but what an experience it has been for you! I definitely recommend drinks on top of HOtel U Prince!! Especially on a sunny evening!
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks, Jamie! It’s really been amazing and I’m so sad about leaving. We went up to the terrace but it didn’t have any space–gotta make reservations next time 😉 such a beautiful hotel, though, so that was fun ha. Hope all is going well with you!!xo

Definitely a great list…. you really have to know Prague to think of adding some of these! Those orbing photos are craaaazy, I had no idea that was a thing! Let me know if you guys come to Krumlov again :)) Oh, and Pivovarsky Dum is one of my ultimate FAV places but definitely get there early, especially on weekend nights.
AmyMacWorld says
I think it would be so fun to do the orbs–although I also wonder if they would, like, chaf…? in hot weather haha. I definitely want to get out on the river again, in any form I can :). I’ve only been to Pivovarsky Dum once and I loved it but it was sooo crowded. We should have taken more opportunities to go there before summer because it’s probably more packed than ever now!

I don’t have a Belgium bucket list! I should have a Belgium bucket list! One for the tiny town we live in wouldn’t work, so I think I need to extend it to Belgium.
Brb, off to make me a Belgium bucket list!
AmyMacWorld says
Haha well I for one am looking forward to reading your Belgium bucket list 🙂
