// I can’t get enough of the coffeehouses here in Budapest! There are so many amazing ones. I’m seriously going to have to write a post dedicated to these discoveries.
// I’m finally (right in the middle of) redesigning the blog! It will take me a few more days to work out the kinks…so bear with me! And let me know what you think??
// Tomorrow is March, yay! I just realized it was “Leap Day” as I was writing the title for this post. I feel like I missed an opportunity to do some fun activities with my students.
// Although I’ve been in Budapest for over a month, I’m still struggling quite a bit to adjust. It’s ironic that all the things that were difficult in Prague–finding a flat, finding a job, visas–were much easier here. So, I wrongly assumed that it would be easier to adjust in general. Ah, little innocent Amy! It’s still a new culture and my job is much harder to love than my previous one in Prague. Still! It’s such a cool city and I’m so happy to be here.
// Despite what I said above, I really miss Prague. I honestly didn’t expect to, not that much. We only lived there a year, after all! I guess I was even more attached to that place than I thought.
// Although the visa process has been smooth, my residence card is apparently still in the mail. Interesting that E has his–and his is tied to mine! What?! I would blame the general mail, but, my dad recently sent me a package (the sweetest package ever, actually) from the States and it came so quickly! I suppose I can blame the general bureaucracy, as per usual.
// On Wednesday, I’m going on my first field trip with my class! To a…pen factory. Yep. Thanks, Hungary. Let’s take a bunch of wild six-year-olds to a FACTORY where they make PENS. Not the zoo! Not for these first-graders. (Okay, a Hungarian did invent the ballpoint pen so I suppose it’s a national symbol. Still! In first grade!). It should be an interesting tour really, except that approximately 99% of it will be in Hungarian so I will have no idea what’s going on. That’s not really very different from a normal day in school, though!
// We officially booked our Easter break trip!! I’ll surprise you on Instagram when we get there…but it’s not a place we were originally planning to visit right now, and it’s a NEW country to us! Any guesses?! Does anyone else love that game as much as I do, or do you hate me a little bit??
// I’m counting down to a long weekend as well! Not sure what we’ll be doing, due to the Easter trip following so soon after, but I’m hoping we can do a little trip somewhere. I’m updating Skyscanner.com a LOT.
