Hello, hello! This time from the island of Hvar, where we arrived yesterday!
I had so many good intentions for this trip…a perfect blend of fun, relaxation, blogging and work (not to mention wedding planning…) all rolled into one was what I was picturing in my head. I guess Croatia knew how emotional and busy these past few months have been, because Croatia just does not want me to have consistent WiFi to make this blend come true. I guess this country just wants me to have fun? 😉 And sleep, perhaps? So, while I have internet, just a quick update:
I’m so excited to be a part of the new website, TripFolk. I had a fantastic time curating a trip for the website to Prague & the Czech Republic. Check out my trip here, and make to visit other trips on the site, as well!
After a few days stressing out about the difficult WiFi situation (and spending too much time on the internet while in Montenegro) I am learning to just let it go. The work will wait until I have internet! But when will I be in Montenegro again?
We are currently staying in the best little AirBnB (I seriously want to move in!!) here on Hvar that is in a tiny village that has NO internet at all. While a little annoying, it can actually be freeing to not have WiFi. Instead, we’ve been swimming (and swimming, and more swimming…I’m not sure I’ve ever been a place this hot and humid!), reading, playing games, cooking, and just soaking up time the two of us. It isn’t so hard to be unplugged in this incredibly beautiful setting. I pinch myself every time I sit on the amazing porch!
We have a scooter here on Hvar! It is so much fun! I also have yet to drive because I tend to be a disaster in that area and E is terrified, but just wait, I will do it.
Two months until our wedding! I go through phases of being completely involved with the planning, and days where I do nothing for it at all. But two months is reallllyyyy soon…
Now we have less than a week left in this gorgeous country before we head back to the Czech Republic to work at a summer camp. So I am off to enjoy it! If you don’t hear from me for awhile, I’ll be here, in my happy place:
Question:Â
Do you have trouble unplugging unless you are forced to? Am I just an addict? 😉

Croatia was the same for me too!! But it was sooooo nice. I think the lack of wifi just lends to how cool Croatia is 🙂 Have so much fun and enjoy!

Yes it was so necessary for me, although sometimes frustrating to be disconnected ;). But I think you’re right, it’s just part of their chill vibe!

I have a hard time…even when traveling…unplugging myself. But I have learned when I do some of the best things happen! The work will wait….the wedding will be fabulous! Enjoy time with E! Its so important! I can’t wait to see you! MISS YOU

I can’t wait to see you TOMORROW! 🙂 thanks for the comment! I really fight against unplugging but it feels amazing when it happens. I hope the wedding will be fabulous…my mother is quite skeptical ha!

It is good for the soul! I need to do it more and not just when it’s forced 😉

I was the same when I went home this summer, I had big plans to tackle lots of blog work, and then I forgot my charger and basically did nothing. A sign we are suppose to just unplug and have fun for sure! Enjoy:)

Yes I think the universe was telling us something haha ;). I’ve been home for about a week now and even though I have no excuses not to be getting stuff done, it’s so nice just…being home!!

Definitely always have trouble unplugging! When I have a little internet and I know I will be able to check my emails, blog a little at night lets say, then it gets easier cause I’ll get my dose 😉 but it’s always so productive! The last time I totally unplugged I wrote 30,000 words for my novel and read 6 books lol such good times! On that note, keep enjoying your trip, blogging can always wait 🙂

Yes I read SO much when we didn’t have internet! It felt so great…I need to unplug more not just when it’s forced on me haha. And wow, 30,000 words on your novel! How is it going now??

Great happy place! I definitely have huge issues unplugging. My phone roaming plan means I have internet a lot of the time, which of course means I tend to still check it a LOT of the time. So bad! I’m trying to only do it when I want to engage (e.g. Instagram) instead of just mindlessly looking all the time. It’s a work in progress 🙂

I hear ya! I accidentally waste so much time just browsing things. It’s so unproductive yet addicting! I’m working on only going on when I actually need to check my email or want to post something instead of just killing time. I put a Nook app on my phone so I’m trying to read rather than browse…we’ll see if it sticks 😉
