While I plan on fully enjoying my new city of Prague, there’s also so much else to see in Europe. Besides last summer and a few other quick summer trips, most of my time abroad has been spent in places other than Europe, so I am excited to travel, well, everywhere! Below you’ll find a list (in pictures!) of the places I can’t wait to visit most in Europe.
(disclaimer: I definitely expect this list to keep growing throughout the year!).
I’m only a little ambitious…
Maybe a year won’t be long enough?

AND so.many.more. I have to stop now or I’ll never stop!
If you’ve been to Europe, what were some of your favorite experiences?

That is rather ambitious – I look forwards to hearing how you get on! Always better to have more ambitions than less!

Haha the list is even longer than I realized…but I will do my best 🙂

Definitely ambitious, but the good news is that being based in Europe, you’ll have a much easier time of traveling around! Budapest was amazing, Prague was one of my favorite cities, and the English countryside is so gorgeous! The only thing I would say is to head to the north west coast of Ireland instead of Dublin. Way more scenic and authentic! 🙂

Thank you for the tip! I have actually been to the west country in Ireland and absolutely loved it. I didn’t make it to Dublin and would still like to visit, but I think you are right that the true charm of Ireland lies outside of Dublin! I hope to visit that area, too… 🙂 I’m also glad to hear that you loved Budapest! I am hoping to do a long weekend there soon! (And I am loving Prague so far).

Definitely ambitious, but it’s so easy once you’re in Europe. I was based in Budapest for a year and a half and I managed to hit up at least 10 countries or so, but I definitely could have put in more travel time as well. Thanks for linking up to the #SundayTraveler! See you next week 🙂

Thank you so much for hosting! I hope to link up as often as possible 🙂 How did you like Budapest? I am thinking I might try to teach there after our time in Prague as up as it’s supposed to be a little cheaper. And ten countries sounds pretty great to me!! 🙂

I LOVED Budapest, but when I left (end of 2012 / beginning 2013), the scene was really bleak for teachers. The government had introduced some new laws that essentially discouraged companies from hiring English teachers and the whole industry suffered. Everyone was leaving. I don’t know what it is like now, but it could be worth investigating. There are a lot of people wanting to learn English there! Budapest is definitely cheaper than Prague I feel, but I was only ever in Prague as a tourist, but each time I went, it did seem a pricier than what the equivalent time in Budapest might have been (or maybe I just know the better deals in Budapest…) Regardless, you should definitely check it out!

Thanks so much for letting me know! I haven’t heard much about Budapest being a hotspot for teachers but I am intrigued by the city. Maybe it’s changed but that wasn’t so long ago. Either way, I am looking forward to visiting Budapest, at least! 🙂

Prague is definitely a favorite, but nothing is better than Christmas in Germany.
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks for the tip! I kind of suspected that but I will make sure to be there for Christmas 🙂
Van @ Snow in Tromso says
A year is not enough for that!!! But Scotland, Iceland, Greece, England and Scandinavia of course are musts! 😉
AmyMacWorld says
Haha I will just be happy to see as much of this as I can! 🙂
Anda @ Travel Notes & Beyond says
A year may not be enough, but why stress out? You have your entire life to enjoy traveling, don’t you?
AmyMacWorld says
I sure hope so! 🙂

I literally want to visit EVERY SINGLE place on your list too!! The only one I’ve been to is Paris and I’d go back in a heart beat! Gosh I hope you get to see all these places Amy and I will be there living vicariously through you and this blog haha. Xo Carly
AmyMacWorld says
I hope I do too haha!! But either way, I will see some of them 🙂 I’m glad you loved Paris–I have heard some not great things about that city. But not enough to deter me lol 😉 I mean, I HAVE to see Paris at least once, right? Thanks so much for following 🙂 xoxo

Love this list! I’m kind of obsessed with Liechtenstein just because of the name! I hear it’s such a tiny country, I’d love to pass through to see it, I mean it must be amazing since it’s smack in the middle of Switzerland and Austria! 🙂
AmyMacWorld says
I’m obsessed with Liechtenstein too! I love that it’s so tiny…I’ve even heard you can walk across it in one day! I also think it looks beautiful 🙂 How could it not be, with that location, right?? 🙂 xo

As a bona fide European, I like to consider myself a bit of an expert, but I too have plenty of those places on my list that I need to visit! If you need any German Christmas Market advice though, I can help with that! Give me a shout! 😀
AmyMacWorld says
Oooh yes I will be doing that as Christmas gets nearer! There are SO MANY!! 🙂
Marissa Sutera says
Well you have definitely gotten travel on my mind now! Looking through these has given me a serious case of wanderlust. I would love to go back to Switzerland someday, although I do really want to visit ALL of these! 🙂
AmyMacWorld says
Switzerland is amazing 🙂 I hope I get to go back, too!

There’s so much to see in Europe! We’re here for 3 months this summer and I haven’t even hit up half of the cities on your list!! We’ll definitely have to come back and see more. Of you ones you listed, I liked Budapest the best so far :). I hope you make a good dent on your list!
AmyMacWorld says
Oh really, Budapest as your favorite, huh? I’m dying to visit but I’ve heard some good things and not so good things (although I think that’s true of any place). I think we will be doing a long weekend there this fall sometime!
