Last night, I rang in 27 at midnight, with a whole bunch of people singing “happy birthday” to me in about four different languages.
(I heard Spanish, English, Korean and Czech!).
That seems like a pretty good omen for this new year, don’t you think??
This week in Prague, although we’ve been busy, we’ve managed to explore a little more of this new, fun city (and hit up some favorites!).
I loved…
Walking along “our” bridge (as in the bridge we walk across to and from our training program) in the rain:
There is something about Prague in the rain. The buildings, already colorful, seem more saturated, and the cobblestones get all shiny and pretty (and slippery!).
Trying out new food!
Jan’s continues to be a favorite (twice this week–just look at that blueberry fruit tart!) and in an effort to save money, we’ve been eating in more. We found these really cheap mini pizzas and I expected dinner that night to be a dud but THEY WERE AMAZING. How is even the frozen pizza delicious??
Prague at night.

This week, now that jet lag is mostly a thing of the past, we’ve been out on the town at night more. Prague is amazing at night!
And even though I told you I was dreading it…my birthday has most definitely been a highlight.
I really can’t hate a day that celebrates me for long (even if it does mean I’m getting old). E and I are only exchanging trips as gifts now (of course) but he gave me a few items to symbolize the trips we will (hopefully) take this year! Who could hate that??
Tell me about your week!
Linking up with Lauren!
