That is CRAZY small…you literally must not be able to avoid running into someone you know because you must know everyone! Sometimes I like the idea of living in such a small town and other times I think it would drive me crazy. It’s good you can visit and get a small dose and then leave when you need to haha!

It was nice to be home…you’re right, there’s no place like it! I’m glad your hometown is big enough to avoid the encounters although they do provide good stories later ;). I think going to really foreign places especially helps me see both the good and the bad things about my hometown! I’m sure you can relate 🙂

Thanks so much for reading! It must be common to feel that way about hometowns, especially the whole not truly appreciating them until you really leave! Traveling is the best for reminding you of how good home can be 🙂

However, my hometown is super small. 800 people. I always knew there was no way I was going to settle down there, but when I go back to visit family I completely appreciate the peace and quiet!

I always wanted to leave, but I ended up going to college only an hour away – which was like the thirteenth grade for my high school. There’s still no place like home though. . .and at least it’s large enough that I’ve managed to avoid awkward encounters with old high school people! That sort of thing can be so hilarious/awkward. Enjoy being home 🙂

It’s very interesting to read about your story, I feel the same about where I grew up. It’s beautiful and great and I never fully appreciated it until I moved away. For university, I stayed in my hometown because it was good and it wouldn’t cost me much, etc. and although I didn’t love it, it allowed me to travel a lot and travelling got me to appreciate where I was from!

What an adventure! Your home town is idyllic. You are very lucky to have lived there and you are lucky because it will always be there!
