1. I am loving my time at my parents’ place in Montana. The town they live in, Bozeman, seems so relaxing compared to the city of Denver. Even when it’s “crowded” it seems so quiet. My grandparents are also here now, and soon both my siblings will be here! Woo! Plus, E had to go back to Denver to finish up work, but he’ll be back tomorrow. It’s been a little hard to be here, though, since my parents’ put our family cat down last week. She was my baby for 18 years! Thankfully their two adorable dogs are helping me get through.
2. I still can’t believe I don’t live in Denver anymore! I keep running into people I know (the joy of small towns) and they always ask where I’m living now. I guess I’m kind of without home for now. I’ve been addressing thank-you notes, and I guess I have to put my parents’ address now!
^^I miss the sunsets from our Colorado balcony!
3. Next week, E and I will drive with his father to Olympia, Washington, where his parents and sister live. We will spend our last 2.5 (!!!) weeks in the States there, and fly to Prague from Seattle. I know we will have so much to do there, but I am planning all sorts of fun day trips for our favorite area of the country. I want to go to the beach (I need an ocean fix!), and spend a day or two in Seattle, go to see my cousin in Portland, Oregon, and maybe even road trip down to California to see family. That’s all possible, right?
4. I am really starting to research all the fantastic places we can visit in Europe (well, this isn’t new, but I have a little more free time for it at the moment, instead of just using Europe research as a procrastination tool). It’s my therapy whenever I get anxious about our move–remind myself how many amazing trips we can take from Prague! Plus, it’s fun to learn more about Prague itself, the city we will call home for a year (most likely). I mean, look at this place!

5. I know I’ve told you this, but all of our stuff is completely in chaos. Why is the one shirt you really need located at the very bottom of the duffel/suitcase/backpack?! Is this a law of physics or something?
^^the last time our stuff was “organized.”
Linking up with Lauren!

I know what you mean, our lives are completely upside down as we get ready for our year abroad! Prague sounds so amazing, my friends took their honeymoon there! And I have to say, I’m so jealous you are on your way to Seattle and Portland. Portland is my favorite place ever!

I’m so happy we get a quick trip there before we leave! You leave pretty soon, right? It’s a surreal and crazy few weeks before leaving!! Ahh!

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I know how awful these things can be. I have always taken the loss of pets hard. 18 years is an incredible age though, what a full life to have lived. xxxxxxx so much love xxx

Ahhh Europe – a traveller’s playground 🙂 Make sure you visit some of the less talked about cities – it’s amazing how many hidden gems there are to explore.

Thanks so much for your tip! Do you have any specific hidden gems to recommend? I’d love to hear them! I love off-the-beaten-path spots and I know I would love to have a break from the big touristy spots in Europe. 🙂 xoxo
