Winter has arrived in Colorado!
My favorite season is pretty much over here (although you never know in this state…today it’s snowing, tomorrow it could be 60 degrees and sunny), but my favorite holidays/my second favorite season are coming up now, so it’s okay.
Still. Here are some photos from fall here in Colorado, because I miss it already.
While you never hear of Colorado when you talk about “leaf-peeping,” I assure you it’s quite nice.
This year, while many of the best leaf-peeping roads were closed, either due to the terrible flooding or the governmental shut-down, we still managed to drive part of the way up the Peak-to-Peak Byway, one of the country’s prettiest roads. The best part wasn’t the main road, however, it was the random turns we took on side roads in neighborhoods. It’s much more forgivable to stop on a deserted side road to take millions of pictures rather than on the side of the freeway, anyway. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you have a trusty car like us and a boyfriend that can maneuver tricky country roads. Completely worth the bumpy rides!!
{photos…which I’m not sure are doing these colors justice…are all from Idaho Springs area off the I-70 in Colorado, or various parts of the Arapaho or Roosevelt National Forests. Plus unnamed mountain neighborhood roads}
