Let’s all say it together, shall we? This was a loooong winter. I’m not accustomed to endless gray days, and the impact they had on my mood was surprising. I didn’t notice how much the constant gray days (paired with little rain or snow, weirdly) impacted my mood until the sun came back.
The sun came back and Prague came out of its winter. Suddenly there are people living in this city, suddenly there is color, and life, and warmth. I can’t ever remember looking forward to a spring this much (probably because spring in the Rockies is mostly mud and snow until it’s summer). Prague in the spring might be my new favorite thing.
That’s quite a bold statement…perhaps one I overuse?…but take a look at these pictures and you’ll see where I’m coming from.
The blossoms were best at a little park just near our flat. The weekends kept raining, so the first sunny day–even though it was a work day–we ran over to spend an hour among the blooms. I took about two hundred pictures of just flowers. It was such a great start to spring!
The Memorial to the Victims of Communism is also at this park.
Especially when it started to snow flowers. Who even knew that was such a thing?
The blossoms in Prague have been a delightful surprise. I’ve been told that up on Petřín hill, the magnolias are stunning, but I hadn’t heard much else. Well! Not only is there the row of cherry trees just a few stops from our flat, but there are magnolias everywhere. Plus, so many other random blooms. I can hardly contain myself.
Along with the blooms is the green that is popping up everywhere. It makes Prague stunning in a whole different way.
Question:
Has spring arrived for you? Did you have a long, cold winter, as well?

Beautiful photos, Amy! How wonderful does Prague look in the spring, woweee!! I have been admiring the blossom in London as the streets seem to be lined in pink, it’s such a happy time of the year 🙂
AmyMacWorld says
yes it really is! I’ve never seen blossoms like this…I’m falling in love with Prague all over again 🙂
Sarah Elizabeth says
Absolutely gorgeous photos!! Prague looks amazing in the Spring. I never really liked Spring (back in Virginia, my allergies are atrocious!!!!!), but here in Ireland, Spring is the best. All the blooms are out and it’s just amazing after such a rainy and dreary winter!
AmyMacWorld says
Thank you, Sarah! I bet Ireland in spring is LOVELY. I’ll be there next week, actually! Mostly in Dublin 🙂 any recommendations??
Sarah Elizabeth says
Aaaah, yay that’s so exciting! Dublin is a lovely city! I’m sure you don’t need any help finding stuff to do there, but do check out Temple Bar – Gogarty’s has some great music and The Temple Bar is a classic – and my favorite little cafe is close to Temple Bar, called the Queen of Tarts. They have the loveliest cakes and the cutest shop. The Guinness Storehouse is great, don’t let anyone tell you any different, and a hop-on, hop-off bus tour is actually a really great way to get your bearings in the city; it’s a lot bigger than you think, as it really wide. But if you want to get out of the city, I’d say look into a bus tour to like Newgrange or the Cliffs of Moher or something like that. Galway and the Ring of Kerry are really beautiful as well xx Hope this helps!! <3
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks so much, Sarah! We went to Queen of Tarts and it’s soooo good! I loved the whole Temple Bar area. We also ended up booking a day tour up to Giant’s Causeway–a long day but so worth it! 🙂 I am dying to go see more of Ireland now!
Sarah Elizabeth says
Aw yay!! Well if you ever make it back, let me know!! haha
AmyMacWorld says
I will make it back for sure, and I will definitely let you know 🙂
Sarah Elizabeth says
Sounds great 🙂 I’ll tell the weather to warm up for you. Maybe it’ll finally listen.

Yes I usually don’t even notice until the sun does come out! Are things blooming in Iceland yet??
Kaelene @ Unlocking Kiki says
Slowly, very slowly, things are starting to bloom here again 🙂

Yay for spring! 🙂

This post makes me so HAPPY!!! We don’t get blossoms in Aus, at least not where I’ve ever been, so I’ll never ever tire of oogling photos like these! So beautiful and yay for Spring finding you guys in Poland! Xx
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks Carly! 🙂 The flowers make me so, so happy and it always brightens my mood again, even on rainy spring days like today :). I love spring in Prague! So far haha!
Kerri says
What a collection of lovely spring photos! Spring has arrived here too – we had a bunch of rainy weekends and a few weekends back there was sun so we went out for a nice Sunday stroll and got some photos. I actually put the blog post together yesterday haha!
I do love the blossoms in the spring time!
AmyMacWorld says
Spring looks lovely where you are, too! 🙂 I’ve never been that into spring, because in the west of America it’s not great, but in Europe I’m loving it!!
Jessi @2feet1world says
Gorgeous photographs! I am LOVING flower snow in London too – so fun! Spring here feels more obvious than in New Zealand, where it gets warmer but also rains a lot, so I am trying to get out in amongst the blossoms and sunshine as much as possible.
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks Jessi! The flowers in London look so amazing too. I think the sun and the green is so startling here after everything was so gray for so long–and I assume London is similar! 🙂
Jessi @2feet1world says
Yep I think you’re right!
Madaline says
Those blossoms are SO gorgeous. Puffy and pink! (I don’t know why but that’s the first thing that came to my mind!). This was totally a long winter here. Gray every day. Raining. I think I couldn’t be more ready for spring and summer!
AmyMacWorld says
Aren’t they amazing?! I thought of them as puffy too–almost like pink clouds on the branches! I feel the same, I am SO HAPPY warmer weather is here!! Finally!
Eden Mint says
Gorgeous photos, looks beautiful there this time of year. Still waiting for the cherry blossoms to start blooming here in Toronto.

Aww yeah I bet you guys are a little behind us in the blossom department 🙂 but they are so worth it when they finally arrive!!
Yvonne @ Lost with Yvonne says
I love spring almost as much as I love fall. The colors and the flowers are always so pretty! Like those blossoms, those are so beautiful!
AmyMacWorld says
I love fall the most, but this spring might be changing my mind. Spring in the Rockies has always been my least favorite season–mostly it’s just an extension of winter, but muddier–but spring here is AMAAAAZINGGG!
Yalanda_Meshell says
Holy beautiful Amy!!!!! The blossoms are so fluffy and bright!
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks Yalanda! I agree 🙂 you know a thing or two about blossoms too I see! 🙂 xo
Christine | A Keane Sense says
Awe so pretty!!!! Spring is definitely in the air! Hope you guys have a great Spring and Summer!
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks, Christine! It’s so lovely here. I hope you are having a great spring so far, too:)
Cynthia says
Yeah, I have no idea what it is, but I feel like I notice the coming of the greenery much more here in CZ than back home! It just pops like technicolor! The “petal snowing” photo is sooo pretttyyyy, I would want to dance around in it 🙂 There is some story about young couples going to Petrin hill and something about a boy giving a girl a (non-flowering) cherry blossom branch on May 1st. She goes home and puts it in water, and if it flowers that means they will marry, or something like that.
AmyMacWorld says
Yes, it’s almost startling here! Maybe because in the NW you have so many evergreens that are green year-round. It seems like every tree and bush lost its green in Prague, and suddenly–WOW! I forgot how full these trees were!! I did dance a little but there were a lot of people there haha ;).
I heard about May 1st–one of my students said something about it being the “Czech Valentine’s Day” and that I needed to kiss my fiancé under a cherry tree :).
Sammy @ Days Like This says
So good to see spring has sprung! hope the weather is still holding out. Since moving to this part of the world I have really learnt how much the weather effects my mood! I have been spoiled living in sunny Aus!
AmyMacWorld says
Yes I got spoiled in the Rockies, too! Even though it gets really cold, there are still well over 300 sunny days a year. I never thought the clouds would bug me until I moved here! The weather is still confusing but we have a lot more sun now 🙂 how is the weather in London?!
