Now that I am getting closer to my one-year anniversary in Prague (!!) the months are really flying by. This month was filled with planning–travel, visitors and wedding–in addition to lots of saving money for these events. Unfortunately I ended up not getting to travel far over Easter break, which I always planned on, but I’m saving time and money for later travels so it didn’t hurt too much. In addition, the weather is finally warming up a little bit in Prague, and I am falling in love all over again!
EIGHT MONTHS IN PRAGUE: BY THE NUMBERS
TWO bouquets of lovely tulips. Even though I sadly wasn’t able to make it to Amsterdam to see the tulip fields (someday!), the tulips in Europe are on point. It’s still pretty cold over here in Praha, so these blooms bring a little bit more spring into my life.
SIX hours in the lovely Café Louvre with a new student, testing out a variety of new dishes and drinking lots of coffee.
AT LEAST TWENTY articles read for research in regards to travel. There are so many amazing travels coming up for us in the next few months–including (potentially) a few weeks in Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro!! I am loving Rough Guides travel for help, especially with Croatia.
MANY MINUTES contemplating my future as an expat and as a traveler/nomad. No plans or decisions yet, but it’s safe to say I want to keep traveling and living in new countries for as long as I can.
APPROXIMATELY 40 HOURS riding the trams around town between lessons and exploring. The trams are the best way to get around Prague…allow me to convince you with these views.
FIVE DAYS vacation for Easter break!
ONE awesome care package (thanks Mom!!!) that is really jump-starting this wedding process! Especially with the addition of my much-missed Cadbury eggs…
TWENTY-FOUR HOURS in the gorgeous Karlovy Vary.
NOT ENOUGH HOURS in the most gorgeous hotel room ever at Hotel Mignon in Karlovy Vary.
SEVEN SIPS of the famous health waters of Karlovy Vary before I just couldn’t take anymore.
THIRTY MORE DAYS living, traveling, loving and laughing with my best friend and fiancé (!!!). Lucky!
SEVENTEEN St. Patrick’s Day or Easter-themed lessons. I firmly believe in making the most of each holiday, especially in my lessons!
ONE new series, “Around the World with…” that starts TOMORROW! (There are still spots open–check it out here :)).

I love the water in KV! I could drink a bottle full, but I really hear that’s not so recommend unless you are trying to really flush out your system….. ahem.
6 hours in Cafe Lourve?!? Intensive lesson, or what? I love the lil’ worksheet you have your kiddo coloring for St. Patricks day, adorable. Definitely agree with you about the Prague trams, but they make me nervous ’cause I’m always looking around for old people getting on at every stop…
AmyMacWorld says
Haha yes we were warned not too drink too much if we didn’t want to, er, be in the bathroom all day ;). Luckily I found it a little hard to get used to. I did enjoy that it tasted different at each little pump–and I loved the decor of each little pump :).
The lesson in Cafe Louvre was six hours for the month, ha! But several other people have asked the same question so I worded it poorly ;). Thankfully we were not there for six hours–even though it’s lovely, it’s not so cheap!!
E is the same way on the trams, but I ride them so much I can read but also keep an eye out for someone who needs my seat. As long as you avoid the ones right by the door you are usually fine 🙂

For a minute I almost thought you bought the mini eggs in Prague! And I literally was about to jump on a plane to buy some! And those tulips! They are one of my favorite flowers -they just scream summer.
AmyMacWorld says
I WISH!!! One bag was not enough!! 🙂 And yay for tulips–they’re my favorite, too, they’re just so pretty and you’re right, they signal warm weather!!

Oooh I can’t wait! I was going to email you for tips when it got a little closer, and re-read your posts about it :). We are coming into the country from Slovenia, so we are planning on making our way down the coast to Dubrovnik, and then hopefully hop into Montenegro briefly :). Right now we are thinking Rovinj-Pula-Zadar-Split-Korčula-Dubrovnik-Kotor! I know you raved about Korčula (right?) so I’m insisting we stop there :).

Those tulips are so pretty and definitely bring a feeling of spring, even if it isn’t yet so much like spring outside! And wow, six hours in the cafe! Though the pancake does look delicious! 😀
AmyMacWorld says
Yes the flowers are blooming everywhere now and they insist spring has arrived, even though it’s cloudy and chilly still!! 🙂
Kerri says
I am off to see -hopefully- the tulip fields next weekend! We’re off to visit Keukenhof gardens which have them on display and then we’re going to cycle around the fields and to the sea! I shall think of you, whilst I take lots of photos!
AmyMacWorld says
Oooh so fun!! Enjoy! I’ll be jealous, but I also can’t wait to see your photos 🙂
