Several weeks ago, while completing the A to Z Challenge (read my thoughts here), I missed the monthly travel prompt for Travel Tuesday as it didn’t match my letter for the day. The theme was Three Places: the place you’ve loved the most, the place you can’t wait to visit, and the place you live now. Since I couldn’t participate then, I’ve decided to follow the prompt a few weeks late.
One of my favorite places has been Bruges.
I’ve written about Bruges in Belgium quite a bit on this blog because I was completely enchanted by this little city. Like most places, part of the reason I love it so much is the feeling I had when I was there. Bruges was a true vacation and I enjoyed almost every minute (even the tourists!). I think we had so much fun there because there was enough to do to fill our days, while also plenty of excuses to relax and eat/drink deliciousness. It’s the kind of place I want to see in every season…and maybe I’ll get to!
I can’t wait to visit Prague.
Who’s surprised? We’ll be moving there at the beginning of August and I can’t wait! Although admittedly I’m terrified, I’ve heard so many great things about Prague and I just can’t wait to see it. I hope I love it enough to live there for at least as year, as currently planned.
I currently live in the metro area of Denver, Colorado.
I can’t say I completely love the city of Denver, although parts of it I do love, Colorado is a gorgeous state. I especially love it in the fall. I’ve been happy to live here, although I think that grad school has gotten in the way of really exploring as much as I would have liked. Luckily, before we move, we’re getting in one last Colorado road trip (that includes the Grand Canyon).
Your turn! What place have you loved, where are you most excited to visit, and where do you live now?
Linking up for Travel Tuesday with Bonnie, Kaelene, Sammy and Van!

Oh, Bruges – I loved it too. Such a charming little place. I missed out on this link up as well, so here goes. I loved Vietnam, I am most excited to visit Iceland and am currently living in London. Such a big contrast!
AmyMacWorld says
London! How fun! And I love that you picked places that run the gamut 🙂 do you get to go to Iceland soon? I also loved Vietnam, it’s a gorgeous and interesting country.

Good luck on your move in August! I’ll move abroad at the same time. It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time, right? I would love to visit Colorado! I only know it as the ski area in various TV shows but the scenery always looks so stunning there!
AmyMacWorld says
Definitely! Some days I can’t wait, and some days I never want to leave what I know! Where are you moving? And Colorado does have great skiing, but gorgeous scenery in general 🙂
Van @ On the Road again says
I’m moving to Northern Norway from Germany to do my Masters.
So I’ll envy you in Prague while I’ll be freezing to death 😀
AmyMacWorld says
Oooh I bet it’s going to be cold there! But I kind of love the cold and might be a little envious of you…for a little bit 😉 good luck with your move!
Kaelene Spence says
I can’t wait to follow along with your move to Prague, such a beautiful city I hope to visit one day!
AmyMacWorld says
Thanks! I can’t wait to share! 🙂 Let me know if/when you visit and I’ll give you a tour…hopefully I know my way around by then haha

Moving to Prague sounds so exciting! As for me, I absolutely loved Thailand, I want to go to Tibet next year (since travel permits didn’t work out last year), and I’m currently in Pennsylvania, wishing I could travel. Alas!
AmyMacWorld says
Haha I hear you. Before China I was stateside for awhile. There are great places to visit in the USA but I was itching to go abroad for sure! I loved, loved Thailand too–such an awesome country. How amazing you get to go to Tibet! I wasn’t too far from Tibet in China but it’s definitely hard to get to…just like China, really. Can’t wait to hear about it!

I have yet to go to Belgium. So many speak so highly of Bruges that maybe we need to make it happen one day! I look forward to see how you like Prague. I do love that city and a lot of great places to go in Czech Republic too!
AmyMacWorld says
Yes I love perusing all your reviews of the Czech Republic! Thank you for sharing them! I can’t wait to see Prague, for the most part I hear great things 🙂 I obviously would recommend Bruges…it’s just so quaint and lovely!

Good Luck with your move…It will be interesting!
AmyMacWorld says
Thank you! I’m so excited…and nervous!!

You are going to LOVE Prague! It’s such a charming, picturesque city… with really delicious food, might I add! I’ve always wanted to go to Bruges – as far as Belgium goes, I’ve only ever been to Brussels and I wasn’t really that impressed, so I want to see more of what the country has to offer. Everyone says Bruges is magical! Guess I’ll have to go check it out for myself 🙂
I can’t wait to follow along with your adventure in Prague!
AmyMacWorld says
I agree–I wasn’t enchanted by Brussels. But you would be enchanted by Bruges! Except there are a lot of tourists but for once I didn’t care. It’s easy to wander down a quiet street and find a smaller canal. I just loved it!
I’m so excited to seem Prague, it seems amazing! And the food, huh? I haven’t heard that much about the food surprisingly…but I can’t wait to try it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

I have been through Denver but really haven’t explored any of these three places!
AmyMacWorld says
They’re all great places to explore! 🙂 Denver is a cool city but it’s best to get way out into the mountains because they are the best part.
Anna Belle says
Prague is so so lovely! I can’t wait to read about that this summer!
AmyMacWorld says
I can’t wait to go and to share 🙂 thanks so much for stopping by!!

I love Paris and France, am most excited to visit Argentina, and live in Tennessee ….. Good luck with the move! You’ll love it out there.
AmyMacWorld says
I’ve heard so many great things about Paris! I’ve only been to France briefly–Lille–and I didn’t love it. I’ve heard other parts of France are much more charming, though. Do you get to visit Argentina soon? I’ve heard great things about that country, too 🙂 And thanks! I can’t wait!!!
Nina says
I didn’t like Paris or France on my first time there but after becoming fluent in French, it has turned out to be a lot more fun. I will be heading to Argentina at the end of the year….. it’s gorgeous, especially what comes to mountaineering.
